Straight from the novel!

Dream getaway numero uno!

A brilliant novelist can make us fall in love over and over again. Some people might fall for the hero, some for the heroine and some might fall for the background points of the novel.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, written by Ann Brashares is a story of four best friends that spend the summer apart for the first time. One of them, Lena Kaligaris went to Greece with her sister Effie to visit their grandparents and this is where Ann shares about the beauty of Oia, Greece.

Oia is one of many beautiful villages on the island of Thira (or Santorini) in Greece. The community is known for the picturesque view of the architecture of the houses along the cliff of volcanic rock that sunken the middle of the island many years ago called the Caldera

Oia sunset is also considered the most beautiful sunset in the world.  Watching the sunset in Oia is a must do for tourist. Therefore, when the time almost come, all available seats, wall or even ground will be taken so that they can watch the sun goes down the horizon.

One more of the many attractive places in Oia is the Ammoudi. Ammoudi is a tiny yet charming fishing village or a port with a small beach 200 steps down from the Oia.

Take a stroll, hand in hand down the Caldera, take a swim in the blue-green ocean (or even skinny-dipping like Lena in the novel) and watch the sun goes down. Isn't that priceless? (^,^)

Now tell me, who wouldn't love that?

Till then, Tata! :)

Ann Brashares has single-handedly responsible for turning my friends and I into forming our very own BPP (Back-Packing-Peeps). Though we haven't reached Caldera (still working out the moolah, why is our currency so small?) we've managed to gaze into the star-berserked night sky of the Cordillera in Philippines. So, double thumbs up Ann Brashares!
