Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa

I'm somewhat interested in history because history shapes the society. However, not all tell tale is history because some of it are just made up in the past. These ancient stories are called hikayat that simply means "story" in Arabic. In order to explore more about the hikayat, it may take us a few months or maybe even years because some people believe that this is merely a myth or a legend. And there is no one can prove the originality of these ancient written stories sources.

This local production film is directed by one of the KRU brothers, Yusry Abdul Halim. He rather failed to deliver his previous movies (Cicakman, Cicakman2, Magika) but he nailed this one. Hikayat Merong Mahawangsa (HMM) started off by the engagement of the offspring of two great empires, the prince of Rome and the princess of China. However, the engagement is to be done in the land of that has no King, Langkasuka. Yadda yadda yadda, the princess was abducted, the prince was stabbed in the tummy, and Merong Mahawangsa became the king of of Langkasuka. Suddenly, the prince is saved by the Chinese Admiral and they came back to Langkasuka. A rescue mission was set up to safe the princess yadda yadda yadda the princess is saved and Merong Mahawangsa was killed. The end.

Now, this is my personal take on the movie. HMM can be considered as a new benchmark of Malaysian production films. I didn't feel like I was watching a Malaysian made movie the entire time. Maybe because of the diversity of actors in HMM. And the dialogues were genius because they made use of pantun and poetry. Or just maybe I am young at age but old at heart, loving people talking in rhyme. Some more, the killing, fighting and blood spilling action is quite spine-chilling and make you cringe in your seat. (maybe just me and my movie mate) =,=

I think this kind of historical (or mytical) film should be produced more to educate people (especially Malaysian) more on Malaysia's own tell tales and to be proud of it.

Till then peeps,

XOXO,

Simple but Nice

Awesome, splendid, amazing things, it all makes us feel good. And the feel good factor varies for every mortal. As for me, even the littlest thing can make me happy. Now let us carry on to the countdown of my 5 awesome things. Drum roll please.....

5. The scale – if it goes down of course! (^,^)V I have been concerning about my weight since forever. And I try to cut my meal portion here and there thinking it might help in losing my excess weight.  Stepping on the scale, seeing the numbers go down, it does make me feel good.

4. Freshly cut grass – I walk everyday to school. And I love it when I came back from school; the grass in my neighborhood was in orderly manner and smells great! I can smile all the way to my house. I know, I’m kinda weird like that. (=,=)

3.  Clearing up your space as your assignment is done – No one can tell me how great the feeling is. You spend the entire weekend working on your class project or your assignment, and now it is done. Flip through the pages, admiring your own work, put the staple on and set it aside as you are going to submit it tomorrow.  It is very awesome indeed

2. Meeting your bestest ever childhood friends after stuck in the college life for almost 5 months – They are the one that you grow up with and feel like your own sisters. Spending time with them, gossiping, sleepovers, road trips, sharing about your dream wedding, (the list goes on)…. make you feel complete again.

1. Mummy’s hug – Admit it, there will always be mummy’s girl or boy inside of you.  No words can tell. It’s the greatest!  (^,^) <3

Till then guys,

(^,^)V

fly to jeju island..............

Annyonghasaeyo....

fly to jeju island ???????????????
yerp...today i want to talk about this island...
where ????
located in the southern part of south korea....
why ????
because this island is mixture of volcanic rock, frequent rains, and temperate climate, and make it similar to the Hawaiian island in the U.S. besides,  drama Jewel in The Palace (Dae Jang Geum), my first favourite Korean drama was shooting at this island...huhuhuhu

 jewel in the palace.....
ok drop the subject...

there are many outstanding places at jeju island but today i want to talk about this three places. For my personal view, i think this place has their own attraction especially on their location and history.

1) Hallim Park

located western 33km away from Jeju City and west of Mt. Hallasan along the beach in Hallimeup. It faces the pleasant scenery of Biyangdo Island, Hyeopjae Beach and Geumneung Beach. The park was established on barren land in Hyeopjaeri, Hallimeup, and covered with tons of earth and began planting assorted subtropical plants in early 1971.
2) CHOENJEYEON WATERFALL

beautiful right???
this place also known as "The pond of God" consist 3 part...
Around the falls, there are rare plants such as ‘solipnan’ reeds also have a cave in the east and from the ceiling cold water pours down creating the waterfall. The water from the first waterfall becomes the second and third waterfalls and flows into the sea.
3) Hallasan National Park

This park is located at Hallasan ,standing 1,950m above sea level as the highest mountain in South Korea, is a dormant volcano with a lake crater at its summit. It has been designated as a nature preservation zone in an effort to protect the rare plants and animals that inhabit the mountain park. Every season at Hallasan presents a different and spectacular view, but it is most renown for its springtime beauty, when the azaleas are in full bloom.

hurm....
that all for today..

till we meet again...

Students' Election. Must we vote?

A student council takes on the responsibility of representing the whole student body. The student council voices the needs, wants and concerns of the students to the administration.

They also often help to raise funds for college's activities, including social events, and community projects.

Why is it important for us to vote?

We want our voices to be heard, we want our needs to be fulfilled.

Right?

Therefore, we should vote for someone that is capable of doing all this. Its for our own good. So we don't have to go around complaining this and that. We have someone else to that for us. =,=

So, we must vote!

Till then,

(^,^)V

Fasten your seatbelt everyone! :)

Have you watched the movie? Let me assume that all of you had watched the movie. And now, we are going to SITKA, Alaska. To the Paxton's House.

Without knowing, we might say that Alaska is some old, shabby, cold rigid place. But in contrary, Sitka is a very beautiful and charming place. Surrounded by beautiful forest and mountains. It is perfect for honeymooners because of the cool climate (Cuddling all the time)*wink wink*. Sitka has an oceanic climate with moderate but cool temperature. The average annual temperature is 7.2 °C with monthly average ranging from 1.6 °C in January to 14.0 °C in August.

However, believe it or not, the filming of The Proposal was never done in Sitka, Alaska! The 'Sitka' scene was done in Rockport, Massachusetts. The town was revamped the Sitka style to make it believable that they were in Alaska.

But The Proposal was a beautiful movie nevertheless. It is in my favorite movie list.

Till then peeps,

Great leaders are not born, they are made......

Hello everyone.....
As usual, we have new task for this week.....

New task : Great leaders are not born, they are made...give your though.

What is definition of leader ?

Leader mean person or thing that holds the dominant or superior position within it field, and also have ability to control or influence other.

As we know, all the human in this world are born to be a leader, but to be a GREAT leaders, they are made. There are many influence from outside to make them to be a great leader. Such as from family, environment and maybe their experience of life.

The most popular leader among people in the entire world is ADOLF HITLER, the leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party or commonly known as NAZI at years 1921.

But...

if I want to talking about the greatest leader, Our Prophet Muhammad S.A.W is good example to talk about.

that all for today...

till we meet again with another task.

Birth Order Trait

Fourth week already? How fast time flies.

This week's topic: Is it true that we're all purportedly born with traits/ character that matches our birth order, or is it simply a made-up condition?

First borns are said to be very responsible and is  a leader-type people. They were often be given the responsibility to be in charge of the other siblings and the feeling of 'Oh-I-need-to-take care-of-everyone' tend to grow along towards adulthood. They were often enough to spent their time demonstrating the given 'power' given by parents, therefore the leader role they play in childhood days are quite difficult to throw away. Eldest siblings love to to manage others and sometime they boss people around.*I know this feeling too well. I'm sorry my dear little brother*

There is something called the "Middle child syndrome". Have you heard about it? It is a situation where the middle child often felt neglected and loved less than the eldest and the youngest. This condition is often thought to develop in the middle born child, but it can also develop in any child in between the eldest and the youngest. They also said to be motivated not on their own personal drive but for the love of another or by a cause therefore they tend to strive for success in order to impress others and will be competitive. However, they're often the peacemakers and the flexible ones. They also treasure friendship very much (maybe because they feel alone and neglected by their own family) and usually put people before anything else. *this is one sure thing, my mother always put other people, I mean everyone before herself. And I respect her for this*

Then comes the baby, the youngest ones. They will always be the baby. They have the tendency to be happy-go-lucky charmers because they are often often indulged by their siblings as well as their parents and extended family. They can be a little self-centered because they always have their way and often less disciplines by their parents. The youngest can be fearless and ready to try new experiences. They are also fun-loving and can put others at ease.

How about the only child?  Words like "selfish" and self-absorbed" are commonly associated with only child. But, is this really true? Only children are in an interesting situation. Since they spent much of their time as kids in the company of adults, they tend to develop special characteristics that will please the elders. They are also not to be very driven but in a quiet way. They also aim to please and desire recognition for their success as well as always expect the best.

Enough with all the theory already. Now, it is time for the most awaited part (well, for me at least) - The Ramblings! (^O^)

For me, personality grows together with age. It is the matter of how much you mature and how long it takes. I was the eye witness of the situation of an elder son, who always give excuses every time his mother ask him to do something. (maybe he is spoilt by his mother when he was young and all the responsibility of helping the parents is put above her younger sister's shoulder) However, as time past by, and he has his own kids of his own, he began to change! He began to took a bit of the responsibility to took care of her mother from her younger sister. I personally think that he will come to his senses sooner or later, and took care of his mother the way an eldest son should do. Birth order may affect some of the traits of personality but there are many other factors affecting your personality. And I personally think that birth order can't affect your personality as a whole and the personality can develop along with time and environment.

Enough said.

Till then peeps.

Do you think we should give monetary incentives to the KP2 students to motivate them to get better grades?

KP2 students also known in Malay language as “ kedudukan perhatian '' have a GPA below than 2.00 for two times before they will be kicked out from our university. I'm totally disagree about giving a money as incentives to motivate them to get better result. There are three reasons I disagree this opinion. Such as, waste our money, their attitude, unfair for other students.

Some people will agree about this opinion because they will think money are main boundaries for students to get a better result. For me by giving this incentives it will waste our money. As we know, almost all student's Micet got money allowance every month, which are for Diploma students about RM 535 and RM 595 for Degree students. With this amount, there are no reasons money will be the boundaries to them to get better result. Unless, they always spend this money to enjoying their self everyday.

My second point is about attitude. As a student, we need act like as students. Such as going to class, doing a tutorials or assignment and maybe have a study group. As far as I know, most of them have a attitude problems, some of them always skip their class, do a plagiarism for assignments or lab reports. So, if we give this incentives to them, are they will change their attitude to be a better students?
Maybe for the first week, they will change but I totally sure it not to the end and will going back to the real them.

Besides that, it will be unfair for other students whose got a good results. If KP2 students got monetary incentives to motivate them to get better grades, they also should get this incentives to remain their constancy of good grades. On the other hands, maybe there are more students will get bad great because want monetary incentives. So can you imagine every years amount of KP students are increase because of money ?

For me, by giving a monetary incentives to them is not solve their problems but it will create new problems from them. So, let think about another solution to solve this problem. Before end my writing let me stress again, I'm totally disagree about giving monetary as incentives to motivate them to get better results.

That's all for today.

Next Stop, India!

"All is well",  memorable quote from Rancho (Aamir Khan) to cheer everyone that is in despair because of ViruS's  (the dean of Imperial College of Engineering) cruel method of teaching.

A story of two best friends looking for long lost best friend which is also their college mate in ICE. The movie is filmed in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Ladakh, Chail and Shimla. My favorite scene in the movie might be the ending where Rancho was found in Leh, Ladakh opening a school for special talented children. Leh, Ladakh is situated in Northern India, somewhere in or near Kashmir. This tiny place is  located in a small valley between the Himalaya and Karakoram mountain ranges. [now I realized something, I'm bad in Geography! (#^,^)] But the point is, the place is beyond words. It is magnificent, beautiful, and many other praising word you can think of. (Maybe just for me because I'm crazy over blue skies and beaches or lakes)

This my friend, is the Pangong Lake (Pangong Tso). Look how blue, how green, how beautiful. This is a place far from modernization because there is even no mobile coverage there! The last being in Tangtse (about 100Km from Leh) Truly is a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of mother nature.

Leh, Ladakh, India is certainly not suitable for a person who is looking for posh and luxurious vacation or trip. This place is for the adventurous at heart people and they'll sure love it to bits.

That's all for now.

Till then,

Tata! (^,')V
